In 1903, Friedrich Ohmann designed a seated central figure in an architectural frame which, while not a contest entry, was ultimately selected in 1907. The condition for the marble statue was that the empress should be shown "in the bloom of her life". The 2,5 metre statue of the empress sitting on a bench was sculpted by Hans Bitterlich. For the plastics of the enclosure we should thank Friedrich Grill. The simultaneously succeeded arrangement of both Burggarten and Volksgarten showed Friedrich Ohmann as a competent garden architect.
